Joseph J. Darwal, Esq. joined the law firm of Obral, Silk & Pal, LLC in the fall of 2019.
As a member of the Obral, Silk & Pal, LLC trial team, Joseph uses his litigation skills, insurance experience, and knowledge of handling serious injury claims to fight for our clients in and out of the courtroom. Mr. Darwal focuses his practice in trucking, transportation, complex medical negligence and nursing home neglect litigation.
Joseph is a graduate of The University of Akron School of Law where he excelled in trial advocacy both in and out of the classroom. As President of the University’s Trial Team Honor Society, Joseph went on to win two Regional Championships, became a National Semi-Finalist, and ended his career as a National Champion. Upon graduation, he was awarded the Sanders J. Mestel Trial Advocacy Award by the University’s faculty. Joseph still volunteer’s his time coaching the Trial Team Honor Society every semester. In the past five years, Mr. Darwal’s students have won numerous awards, including the 2021 Texas Young Lawyers Regional Championship.
Prior to joining Obral, Silk & Pal, LLC, Joseph worked for a civil defense firm in Cleveland, focusing on complex transportation litigation. His work in the courtroom eventually lead him to a litigation management role for one of the largest trucking insurance companies in the country. Joseph spent years defending trucks, buses, ambulances, and other commercial vehicles, in multi-million-dollar civil suits. During this time he developed a deep understanding of how insurance companies handle their claims from intake, through settlement, and eventually to trial.
